Timepix coupled with a Micro-Channel Plate (MCP) can detect ions with lower energy than the standard silicon sensor. That, together with the capability of measuring the time-of-arrival in individual pixels allows applications such as mass spectrometry imaging. Our Timepix QTPX-262k sensor was for this purpose modified to operate in high-vacuum environment. Please visit our partnering company Omics2Image for more information.
