Large Area Hybrid Pixel Detector for Electron Microscopy

The CheeTah M3 Mega is ASI’s large-area pixel detector based on Medipix3 technology. The 1024 x 1024 pixel array gives the highest resolution images and diffraction patterns, while keeping the noiseless data acquisition and single electron detection sensitivity common to all of ASI’s CheeTah detectors, and even improving upon the readout speed. Due to the small pixel size and compact geometry, it can easily be adapted to many TEMs. The unprecedented resolution of the CheeTah M3 Mega opens up a range of new possibilities, such as diffraction on large proteins or beam sensitive materials.
